The Future And You--May 25, 2016

Topics: we have begun building an understanding of what each of our genes do, this will transform our future long before it is complete because it will be combined with our growing ability to edit each of those genes.

Also, DARPA wants to accelerate training by using a tiny electrical current applied to the scalp, first during the training, and then again during sleep; a rework of the date labels and nutritional labels on 800,000 food containers has now been ordered; a busy schedule helps to keep our brains strong into old age; and Google has patented human fly-paper for self-driving cars.

Also, the Author Earnings Report is a complete analysis of the books sold on Amazon. How many are sold; how much money is being made; a breakdown by eBooks, physical books, and audio books; and a breakdown by traditionally published authors verses independent authors. And, yes, independent authors are now making more money than traditionally published authors, at least when treated as two groups. (Here's a YouTube video featuring one of its creators.)
